Welcome back to Building your wardrobe with Dee’s Dynamics, the second instalment of ‘Why I Buy black’. An exploration into the importance of putting your money where your mouth is when it comes to merging fashion and racial justice!

This second look is a true favourite. Despite how crushed the tee looks, I promise it was steamed beforehand. It just doesn't hold up very well, the material is pretty thick and sturdy. Which is great for durability, not so much for remaining crush free in transit, but we move.

This look is definitely something I’d wear for a casual but cute affair, preferably in a warm climate. But I still think the right jacket could match well too, enabling you to wear it throughout the seasons.

Pink is still a favourite colour of mine and I love the little accents throughout. The star of the show in this look is of course the trousers. Eeeeek, I love them SO much. To the point I’ve been really ‘keeping them safe’ (admittedly this is an awful habit with clothes that I have). This shoot was my second time ever wearing them outside of my home and they are actually handmade by my older sister (yes, the creative gene is rampant in my family haha). I randomly came across some beautiful material one day and immediately envisioned what I wanted the material to become. A high waisted trouser, with a kind of loose tracksuit fit and a cinched ankle. On a whim I sent my sis a pic of the material and told her my desires… and well she executed!

This look is a testament to the free-thinking and creative nature that is demonstrated throughout black culture and reminds me of my innate individuality. A constant source of innovation and new ideas. Another reason I buy black, I believe feeding into these innovations in a monetary sense is the only way to make room for expansion.

This is look two wrapped, see you here for the next one!
